A1: Gridding Review/Check-In/Reflection
A2: Color! Schemes and Combinations
A3: Putting It To Practice
Objective: Building up our repertoire of art techniques and understandings
Today I showed a PowerPoint Presentation on the topic of COLOR and different color schemes (combinations). Ranging from Primary Colors (review) to Complementary, Triadic, Analogous, Split-Complementary, Monochromatic, and so on. After we learned about all the color combinations, each table took a role in becoming a "master" with one color scheme (ie. analogous = RED). After creating a collage using that chosen color scheme, they are now on display in the classroom and in the hallway downstairs. We will be choosing a color scheme for our next project in which students will demonstrate a deeper understanding of color and the combination they can be used in.
See the attachments below for the presentation and class notes.

Color is a huge part of painting and is crucial for each artist. Matisse was a master of color and his "Dance" is a good representation of it.
